When the final votes were tallied, the PlayStation Vita (PSV) did pulled some pretty good sales numbers for its launch. In spite of initial launch issues with the system’s hardware, firmware, and connection issues, Sony’s new handheld would go on to sell through more than 324,000 units thanks to presales.
Things look a little less rosy for the PSV one week later. The week of December 19-25 saw the PlayStation Vita only clear 72,479 units. To add some perspective, this same week saw the 3DS sell over 482,000 systems. The original PSP line of handhelds also pushed more than 100,000 units out the door in the same week.
