Code Geass Getting Wonderland Parody OVA, 2 Broadway-Style Productions, and More

Normally I ‘d go in with a joke about Code Geass jumping the shark, but for a series that was practically born half-way up the ramp on water skis, it’s no real surprise. Actually, I take that back. Not even the mid-season cliffhanger so offensive it would take a Smog Monster to resolve could have possibly prepared me for this.

Without futher ado, I present “Nunnally in Wonderland”. 9c2bcff0

This OVA, coming to Japan sometime in 2012,features anti-hero Lelouch Lamperouge brainwashing his way across Lewis Carroll’s classic to save his sister Nunnally.

But wait! There’s more! THIS is where is gets weird.

Code Geass will also be spinning off into a live action play. This side story takes place during a student council festival where the gang is reenacting the previous antics of the Black Knights from episode 8 of the first season. Mounting tensions between the students and the real life problems between the Britannian Army and the Black Knights mix reality with fiction as the real action starts to take place.

Need an excuse to go? The play’s producers promise to recreate the series iconic Nightmare Frame mecha on-stage.

…and we are SO not done yet. This crazy train is just picking up speed!

code geass musical castA second live action performance, Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion -Majin ni Sasageru Prelude (Prelude for the Sorcerer), is scheduled to run 16 performances planned for June 28th to July 8th at the Galaxy Theater in Tokyo. How is this one different? It is a Code Geass musical performed by an all male cast. All your favorite female characters are still in it, they’re just played by men.

The story is said to take place inside the giant plot-hole vacuum between the first and second seasons. Producers are estimating 4-5 songs for the show.

Let’s see, what else… How about a Code Geass iPhone game?

It was announced that Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion will be coming to Japan's Mobage social gaming network. Registration for the game is now open and the title will launch this Spring. The official site for the game is

I am not even going to go into the upcoming spin-off OVA movie series or the theatrical movie release that retells that original series’ story. It all seems a little mundane at this point. There’s a pachinko machine coming, but I can’t find pics. Thank God. My sanity hurts.

Makes the Madoka Magica café seem downright dull by comparison, eh?

Growing Up Otaku would like to take this time to remind managers of franchises everywhere to take their medication.
