Giggle. New console. This is why we play the game

This guy I know says the girl he was dating's Uncle Larry saw a memo that said the new Nintendo console can heal a broken heart.

N starts off with Miamoto acting humble and offering up, like, 4 Zelda games. Mostly remakes. 20mins? Gads. No real gameplay shown from ANY of them.

Mario, Mario Kart, Starfox, Icarus, etc. for 3DS. You know, all the crap they should have had for the system launch? Coming for XMas. Finally. I think they’re e-shop just launched today too. Sure didn’t pay to be an early adopter on that one.

Still not showing anyone playing anything. Unusual not to see a stage full of people swinging Wiimotes

OOoooo, Pokedex 3D for FREE!!! Even has augmented reality (ie, put little pictures in real world and camera will show Pokémon there).

It looks good! Brilliant peripheral, but definitely a peripheral. The can’t let it crowd in on the DS market. Kinda like the modern take on the Dreamcast’s VMU.

Ooo, nevermind. They just said they’re gonna put Smash Brothers on this thing. More than a VMU. Nope, its also a full on system. It’s the iPad of the Nintendo ecosystem.

They can’t seems to make up their minds if they are going to call it a controller or console. They put out a product they’re afraid to classify. THAT shows innovation!

Showing a lot of hardcore, violent games. Marketing for early adopters. Not gonna be cheap.

I can’t help but think that this is what the Playstation Vita (NGP) should have been instead of the Franken-PSP they put out.

Nintendo says now have 4 platforms: DS, 3DS, Wii, and Wii U.

They didn’t even bring the new hardware out on stage WTF!

Random Thoughts on Sony at E3 2011

Got to this party late. Fanboy vs. Father and all that. Now watching in 3 separate timelines. Woooooo. All this is mostly just for the Mrs. anyway

Satisfactory handling of PSN hack issue. Only a little giggling.

Uncharted is awesome. Duh. Not been mentioning most of the ‘duh’ moments. Like ‘new Ass. Creed/Halo/CoD game rocks; Looks just like last one’. Duh.

Lots of non-playable, coming in 2012 games this year.

A FPS shooter MMO interfaced with Eve Online at the same time? Pfft! They better not hype that one too much. If they manage to get all that crap working, it is going to take another year (at least) to meet expectations.

Really teasing the NGP.

Good idea! Make console gamers buy a dedicated monitor. Why not? $500 too much tho. Sony is always good at pricing themselves at the edge of the market.

NGP is now called Playstation Vita. Been rumored.

That’s one amazing screen on Vita for them to be filming right off of it so well. Can’t be production model. Still impressive for such a small screen. Might be OLED. Liz’s Samsung Android phone looks pretty amazing. Still not that good tho.

So… Mod Nation Racers is not the same as Mod Nation Racers on PS3 or PSP. WTF! Get a new name then. Also, looks like the same game to me.

Touchscreen controls seem bolted on by the game code as Move controller.

Vita is $250 wifi/$300 3G?! Score.

Ya know, Vita is the only Sony device they didn’t pimp/support 3D.

Short show for Sony. No sales numbers. First show they didn’t mention the PS2.

I can’t tell Mass Effect 3 from any of the other 3rd person space marine shooters anymore. That series sure has changed.

EA is pimping their Origin download store constantly.

You can have fist fights with cops in Need for Speed? Huh? What is going on with that game? QTE on-foot segments in a racing game. I don’t know… At least it’s something new.

Kingdoms of Amalur : Reckoning is one of those dream team products that should should have been one of the most epic creative team ups of all time but always ends up failing.

Overstrike = Win! Especially coming from the minds behind Ratchet & Clank.

Battlefield 3 getting cross platform open beta in September.

They put this horrible big screen right behind the speaker and its just a showcase for poor streaming quality video is.

GAAAAAAAASP! Minecraft is coming to the XBox 360 with Kinect support. Never would’ve guessed that. I still can’t believe that Minecraft has as big of a PC following as it does, I really can’t see XBoxers wanting to play a Wii version of it.

So, meh. The usual. Halo, Fable, Forza, Gears, and, thanks to Kinect, a fistful of Wii games.

Banner didn’t show under Internet Explorer 9. Oops. Who knew. Shoulda checked sooner as about 33% of my traffic is from some form of IE. Gonna do up a better one later, but this fixes the problem. Now I can sleep easy knowing the Giant Fire-Breathing Robot Baby watches over all.

Stopping to Smell the Flowers : Succulent Plants

It’s not meta, but… hmm… there almost certainly is some kind of super nerdy term for blogging your web surfing. And starting on a tangent. Hm? Oh, yeah, succulent plants.

So I found myself reading an article about growing plants in a tea tin, which led to an article about growing plants in Altoids tins, which led to looking at pretty pictures of “succulent plants” which, sadly, do not appear to be very tasty.
